Acupuncture + Yoga
For thousands of years, the ancient practices of acupuncture and yoga have been used to promote holistic health.
In this video we’ll explore the key fundamental between acupuncture and yoga, their connections to the five elements, the concepts of qi and prana, the role of meridians and nadis, and the hormonal effects they can have.
At the heart of both is the concept of the five elements – wood, fire, earth, metal, water. Balancing their flow is key in acupuncture. Similarly, yoga focuses on cultivating and balancing the flow of prana, the vital life force.
Another parallel is the energetic pathways – acupuncture works with meridians, while yoga has the concept of nadis. Both use techniques to clear blockages and restore balance along these channels.
Both acupuncture and yoga positively impact the hormonal systems. Acupuncture can stimulate endorphins, dopamine, melatonin. Which are body’s natural pain killer and mood enhancers , Yoga has been shown to influence hormone levels, reducing stress hormones and increasing calming GABA.
The practices differ in their approach to recovery. Acupuncture is passive, allowing the body to rest and restore it self this approach reduce inflammation, relieve pain and stress . Yoga is an active practice engaging the body and mind through poses, breath work, and meditation. Which also helps to increase flexibility and strength.
By combining the passive restoration of acupuncture with the active, mindful practice of yoga, you can create a well-rounded approach to holistic health and wellness.

Why should one take acupuncture and yoga in combination
Yoga and acupuncture have inherent similarities. Both provide patients with counsel on self-care, for example, breathing techniques to mitigate pain. It utilizes practices that can impact pain processing, emotions associated with pain, and the impact of pain on daily life, for example, breathing, visualization techniques, and relaxation practices. Given the need for patient activation in the context of chronic pain, yoga therapy combined with acupuncture therapy offer a significant synergy for chronic pain management and recovery. Comprehensive pain care strategies include not only implementation of effective modalities but also aim to maximize their benefit through optimal combinations and bundling of care.
