Sujok Therapy in Mumbai —
Your Hands and Feet as Maps of the Whole Body
The Korean microsystem therapy that maps the entire body onto the hands and feet — precise, effective, and accessible even for patients who cannot receive body needling.
What Is Sujok Therapy
Hands and feet
as maps of the whole body.
Sujok (수족, Korean for “hand-foot”) is a system of therapy developed by South Korean professor Park Jae Woo — the same lineage in which Dr. Priya Samwani was trained in Seoul. It is based on the principle that the human hand and foot contain complete microsystem maps of the entire body: the thumb corresponds to the head, the fingers to the limbs, the palm to the torso, with specific correspondence points for every organ, joint, and body system.
By stimulating specific correspondence points on the hands and feet — through small needles, seeds, magnets, or pressure tools — Sujok therapy produces therapeutic effects throughout the body without the need for needling the body itself. At Balancepoint, Sujok is used both as a standalone therapy and as a powerful complement to body acupuncture — often producing faster results when combined.
How Sujok Works
Correspondence systems,
whole-body reach.
The hand as a
miniature body map
The body contains several complete microsystems — compact maps of the whole body within a smaller region. In Sujok, the hand is the primary microsystem: thumb = head and neck, index and little fingers = arms, middle and ring fingers = legs, palm = trunk with specific zones for all internal organs.
High-density nerve
and meridian endings
The hands and feet contain the highest concentration of nerve endings, reflex zones, and meridian terminal points in the body. Stimulation of a correspondence point sends a signal to the corresponding body region — producing measurable therapeutic effects. For acute pain, results are often immediate.
Priya Samwani trained in Seoul under the sons of Dr. Park Jae Woo — the founder of Sujok therapy. Prateek Gupta Samwani is a third-generation TCM practitioner in this same lineage. Balancepoint practices Sujok in its authentic, lineage-transmitted form.
